Monjur Alam has been practicing as an Advocate in Bangladesh in both district courts and Supreme Court for more than 2 decades. His major practice areas include Writ, Civil, Criminal and Company jurisdictions. Apart from legal practice, Alam has further experience in teaching, research and consultancy with various international organizations such as UNICEF and others.

During 2007-early 2009, he served as an Assistant Attorney General in the office of the Attorney General for Bangladesh. As an Assistant Attorney General, Alam appeared for the state in a variety of cases including writs and criminal matters. He has also engaged in teaching law for a number of years. He graduated with LLB (Hons) and LL.M from Rajshahi University.
